Saraunya banda at Warujojo Safari Lodge: mustard-yellow walls and a four-poster bed

Saraunya

Mustard walls, print textiles, and a bathing room sculpted from the earth.

The room

Saraunya is the banda guests photograph first: mustard-yellow walls under a steep timber ceiling, a four-poster bed wrapped in a soft canopy net, and African-print cushions and runners that make the room unmistakably East African.

The bathroom is its own small wonder: a bathing room sculpted in smooth terracotta, its sunken tub moulded straight into the earth-toned walls, plus a double timber vanity with hand-carved stone basins. A daybed and writing desk round it out; the veranda sits under its own thatch.
